And man did we get blown out. By Stanfurd. In the rain. Still, it was fun, and I will definitely be back for more. Being a stone throw away from Andrew Luck and Jake Locker was pretty cool too. Our seats were all the way near the end zone though, which killed any depth perception I might have had.
And now gratuitous cat picture!
He's clinging to a mouse stuffed with catnip. Oddly enough, he doesn't really have any reaction to the catnip, but he does like chewing on the mouse. I can hold a whole tube of catnip up to him and he barely blinks an eye. Weird cat.

One down, a lot more to go
First midterm (biostats) went well, we actually already got it back today. I scored well above the mean, so I am satisfied.
Also went to Annapurna, a really good Indian restaurant, for a after the test celebration dinner.
First picture that I have of all (ok, half) of my class together!
On another note, I wanna do a food challenge of some sort in Seattle... anyone got any suggestions?

First midterm tomorrow!
Got midterm #1 of my UW career tomorrow morning. It's for biostats, and I am not worried at all. Kinda worried about the fact that I'm not worried, but grad school as a whole seems so much more relaxed than undergrad in terms of grades. Pretty much all of my exams are either take home or open book/note. A nice change of pace, but kinda weird coming from an environment where grades were so important.
On a more fun note, I went to a pumpkin carving party last night! First time ever carving a pumpkin, and it was a lot of fun.
Our (me, Elisabet, and Jamie) hard work
The whole collection. Turned out much better than expected.

And you shall be called....
Pipsqueak, aka Pip!
Finally decided what to name my cat. The initial idea for Pip came from my classmate Elisabet, and I liked it, but it seemed too short.... and Pipsqueak seemed just right.
He's been a good cat so far. Sleeps and eats a lot, but that's normal for young cats I hear. Hasn't destroyed anything yet, and he's already potty trained.
School is just about to hit its busy point unfortunately. First midterm is next week, and then after that, it's nothing but midterms and projects. I wish we were on semesters instead, quarters is just so darn fast. Nice that there is less material per midterm at least.

Yo Tengo Un Gato!
I've been thinking of getting a cat for a while.... and today, I finally did it!
This is Devin, a 6 month old mixed breed cat from the PAWS Cat City in Greenwood. He may not be Devin for long though, as I'm pretty sure I'm gonna rename him. Just not sure what to rename him yet. Any good suggestions?
Devin is very sweet little cat, very calm and friendly. Only thing is, he seems a bit scared of the studio still. Whenever I leave the place, even for just a few minutes, I always come back to find him hiding in my closet. Can't be home all the time though. so hopefully he gets used to it fast.
I'll try my hardest not turn this into a cat blog... but no promises.

I am so easily amused...
Today I had to run an errand downtown after talking to my adviser (who's office is all the way down in South Lake Union, instead of on campus). Along the way, I passed by the Space Needle.
Somehow, after living here for almost a month, the idea that the Space Needle is right there still seems so... foreign.
Most people wouldn't even give it a second thought, but for some reason, it just stuck in my head for a long time. I think I get very used to people/places and have a hard time letting them go. Speaking of which... I miss seeing the Golden Gate/Bay Bridge in the distance.
Still working on campus pics... it rained last Saturday, and I was busy on Sunday, so I didn't get a chance to.
And does anyone else use blogspot? I wish they would email me when someone comments on a post. There's no alert of any sort, so I usually don't see the comment until a week later.

One week (almost) down
Class started last Wednesday, so once tomorrow is done, I'll officially be done with one week of class. It's gone pretty well so far, classes that I was initially intimidated by seem manageable now.
My classmates are pretty cool too, almost all out-of-staters like me. Nice to actually know more than one person in this town finally. We had a little potluck/board game session yesterday which was a lot of fun.
The spiders here are huge.. I'm used to the skinny little daddy long legs in California, but these put them to shame.
I'll try to get some pictures of campus up soon!
